Fully in Conference Play Now
One variable that’s difficult to account for is the switch from non-conference play into conference play. Talent, or lack there of, should still determine winners and losers and by how much more than anything else, but anyone who follows a team very closely should be able to recognize a difference. It hasn’t always been a stubborn problem for the system to navigate, but even the best years have losing weeks, and since I have struggled to get off to a fast start ever since Covid hit, maybe I’m prone to overreact to my worst week yet this season, 8-11. That’s not an awful worst week, still much better than the Covid seasons, and one great week would erase all the heartache, but man, I’d sure like to see it pretty soon. Here are this week’s games:
Friday
San Jose State -7 at home vs UNLV
Saturday
Michigan -22.5 at Indiana
Mississippi State -9 at home vs Arkansas
Cincinnati -27.5 at home vs South Florida
Northwestern +10 at home vs Wisconsin
Navy +6.5 at home vs Tulsa
Ball State +7.5 at Central Michigan
Northern Illinois +5.5 at home vs Toledo
Miami (OH) +5.5 at home vs Kent State
Texas State +19 at home vs Appalachian State
Boston College +21 at home vs Clemson
Wake Forest -17 at home vs Army
North Carolina State -3 at home vs Florida State

Gameday, anyone? Destination: Lawrence, Kansas. How about that?
